Janene Perez joined San José State University and the Lurie College of Education in 2006. She has served as a lecturer and major advisor in the Child and Adolescent Development department, on the Dean’s Leadership Team as the Director of the Lurie College Student Success Center, and Director of Lurie College Alumni Engagement. Prior to her career in academia, Janene worked in the non-profit sector as a Case Manager, Supervisor, and Program Director.  She also served as the Technical Assistance Specialist for the State of California’s Kinship Support Network. Janene has a strong passion for community service, and over the last twenty years has been involved with several non-profit agencies throughout Silicon Valley and Monterey Bay. Janene holds a BA and MA from San José State University.
