She is strongly committed to social justice, equity, and community engagement. As a first-generation graduate, she understands firsthand the barriers and disparities students face when navigating the K-16 system. She has extensive experience working with students from diverse ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds, providing tailored support to meet their needs. Her commitment to maintaining an equity-focused approach is one of her greatest strengths.

Leticia leverages her strategic planning and project management skills to fully support individual projects and initiatives. With over 15 years of experience as an educator, she has significantly impacted nonprofits and public institutions throughout the Bay Area. She played a key role in streamlining the enrollment process for 44 schools in Oakland. At the Hayward Unified School District, Leticia utilized her expertise in online technology and communication tools to support family engagement specialists. Taking the initiative, she developed comprehensive training manuals and hosted training sessions to provide additional support. Her efforts helped expand family engagement across all 28 schools in the district by empowering specialists with the skills and resources they needed. As one of the district leads, she coordinated district-wide events such as the Families United Conference, the annual Backpack Giveaway, and The Million Father March. She also attended national conferences with the family engagement team, where they presented their framework to a wide range of educators.

Her leadership and cultural competence are essential in driving the success of the Bay Area K-16 Collaborative Grant.
