Overfelt High Students Visit SJSU
On October 29, over 40 students in Overfelt High School’s Child Development & Education Pathway visited San José State University. Students visited the Preschool and Toddler Labs and took a campus tour before having lunch with five undergraduate students in the teacher preparation pathways - Child Development and Liberal Studies. In the afternoon, the students sat in on Child Development 159, a work-based learning course for teacher preparation majors supporting their fieldwork placements in K-8 classrooms.
“The most engaging part was the lecture, many took part of the lecture. It gave us an idea of how a college professor might teach and what was expected from us. ”
This spring we look forward to welcoming more pathway students to our 2nd annual Career Summit: Exploring Careers in Education, Health, and Community and Health Programs Preview Day!
