Summer Work-Based Learning in San Francisco

As summer winds down and students gear up for the school year, over 700 San Francisco Unified high school students are completing their paid summer internship experiences.

Interns have been learning on the job across in fields ranging from education to health law, amongst many others. Students earn while they learn- they are hired, onboarded and paid by San Francisco Unified while discovering potential career paths, building confidence and developing essential skills. Students also take a relevant course through dual enrollment City College of San Francisco, earning college credit.

ABC7 caught up with a few students in July, learning about their experiences interning at the @UCSF Kanbar Center for Simulation and Clinical Skills Lab. Check out their story here: https://abc7news.com/post/sfusd-high-school-students-get-hands-experience-internships/15066270/
